Preparing for 2012 CE
The Vision - 2012CE and beyond.
It is recorded that the Maya Long Count Fourth Age cycle began on 11 August 3114 BCE
Although uncertainty exists in its exact correlation with the Gregorian calendar, its ending date of 13 Ahau 0.0.0.0. may correspond to 21st December 2012 CE.
We believe we are here on planet Earth at a critical time never before experienced in recorded history and it is vital we wake up and fully realize what is happening in the wider world. What will you be doing in 2012? Will you still drive to the supermarket to buy imported fruits? Will you use yet more fuel to take your children half a mile to school when they could so easily walk? Will you waste precious water resources or ignore environmental benefits of new solar and wind technologies? Change for some of us it will mean being less complacent and less 'comfortable'. For the sake of Madre Tierra, Mother Earth, it is imperative we do change and enter a new phase where environmental sustainability, compassion, peace and trust are at the forefront of our daily lives.
Prophetic messages from Maya Indigenous leaders of Central America, concerning the year 2012 and beyond are not about the end of the world, however the way we as a race are abusing our planet, could lead to her relieving herself of humans on a massive scale in order to redress imbalances.
Among the many nations of indigenous peoples in the Americas, Hopi and Kogi sit in council alongside Maya Elders to speak of great changes to vibrational levels for Mother Earth. They also tell us we need to change our personal frequency vibration in order to match the new planetary energies.
So what does this mean? What can we individually do about this critical situation?
Here are some visionary thoughts to guide each of us on the journey to 2012CE and beyond. They are extracts from words spoken during a Women's circle and a Men's circle at the Maya Dreamtime Vision Council held in Glastonbury, UK, May 2008
- Seek and find the spirit of Mother Earth.
- Reconnect with the cycles in our own land. Awake with the sunrise, honour the beginning of each day, give thanks for your experience and learning from the world of nature, and reconnect with trees and plants.
- Truth lives in nature and the truth of nature lives in your DNA. Our ancestors lived in nature: they know, ask them.
- Nobody can kill the magic of love, of nature. We are so powerful we can come back: we are all born shaman. We cannot resolve this with the intellect alone, but we are in touch, we must return to the heart.
- We are all shamans. Sham is Mongolian for intelligent, an is person. Every one is a specialist, everyone a shaman.
- The poverty and confusion of the 21st century child, the sacking of Earth's rainforests, the rape of her materials and resources, and the abuse of her animals and oceans, are all shadows being thrown by greed and a failure of moral understanding.
- Reclaim our Feminine powers of intuition and nurturance.
- Remember, as women, we can affect change gently and powerfully through the inner gifts of seeing a positive vision, love, grace and strength.
- Reclaim the spiritual and physical levels for ourselves through Ceremony and through being self-sufficient in localized communities, sharing skills, handmade items and home-grown produce.
- Be mindful of TV & radio; listen only to the positive & uplifting: endeavour to avoid toxic, fear based media manipulation.
- Look for our inspiration to supernature: other creatures have not fallen into duality and confusion.
- There is no guarantee you'll wake up tomorrow, no contract. You have only the moment. Give everything to the heart of the Earth, to the heart of the sky, to the heart of the oceans. Do not be afraid to cry.
- Do a daily blessing. Centre yourself within your heart and reconnect with the intelligence of all the cells within your body and acknowledge your Spirit, Soul and Ancestors.
- To ‘walk our talk’, lead by example and be ourselves. Visualize a positive future where we are living a life in love and joy and start living positively now.
Wandering Wolf, Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez Oxlaj, A 13th generation Kiché Maya High Priest, President of the Mayan Council of Elders and Indigenous Council of the Americas spoke the following words of guidance.
The Spirit of the Maya Nation and the Spirit of Mother Earth make us look for ties of friendship with all peoples of the world. The Maya Prophecy tells us
‘We will meet for we are one like the fingers of the hand". We all are children of the Earth, we are flowers of the garden of our Creator coming in different colors, in different shapes, in different sizes, with different aromas; speaking different languages, and each one worshiping and meditating in their own way to the same Creator who has different names according to their own culture.’
