Sun & Serpent Maya Mysteries School
Founded in 1996 by invitation of Maya Elders. Originally based in U.K. but now in Andalucia, southern Spain provides a venue for creative study as well as an initiatic center. We teach Maya cosmic consciousness through a Holistic Shamanism approach in preparation for the so called 'end times' of the Maya Fourth Creation 13 Ahau 0.0.0.0. (21st December 2012). However, as there is an end, so there is a beginning. Thus it is our commitment to participate fully in a vision for the future; to embrace spiritual teachings central to all major world religions, in reality a Universality of Spirit made manifest through all life forms.
Mysteries schools are nothing new. They have existed for thousands of years. All the Masters and Teachers, like Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, Mohammed at one time went to a place to study so they could work with knowledge intended as the guiding spiritual influence for humanity. Maya cosmic consciousness is in unison with ancient wisdom from many traditions. The study and daily practice of this spiritual wisdom teaching is a path toward supreme enlightenment and through mastery we ascend beyond our physical form.
Over the years the school has taken a major role in raising awareness of the interconnectedness between the sacred and the everyday. The Maya wisdom teachers show how we may interpret strands of time future in relation to these 'end times' of the 'Fourth Age'. The one over-riding message from the indigenous who share their wisdom is that we need to honour the Earth and Nature in all ways possible.
Major consciousness raising events have been presented by the School including; Glastonbury Mayan Dreamtime Festivals that brought inspirational presenters to the U.K., among them Alberto Ruiz, José & Lloydine Argüelles, Aluna Joy Yaxk'in, John Major- Jenkins, Ariel Spillsbury and Olympia Genthe. Proceeds from these Festivals were donated to Maya Indigenous projects. Earlier in 2008, together with our 'sister' Auriga Mysteries School, U.K. we presented Mayadreamtime 2012 Vision Council in Glastonbury. As a Maya Mysteries School we follow in the footsteps of the Ancient Schools, but seek to bring the enduring Mysteries of Life into a positive vision of the future. The Mysteries are still to be found in the beauty of a flower or in the eyes of a newly born child. For this reason we are called to honour the world of Nature and wonder at how environmental degradation has reached the point where Native American Elders assert our excessive use of future resources means that we are metaphorically 'eating our children's children.'Please enquire as to how best you may study with us.
